OT for children with autism
This is a great video explaining what we, as Occupational Therapists, do when working with children with on the Autism spectrum. Those unfamiliar with OT may view a typical OT therapy session as purely playtime. Often we do use “play” as a therapeutic tool to engage and motivate the children we work with all while using these play activities to address function in areas such as balance and stability, hand eye coordination, strengthening, visual perceptual skills, tolerance of task, initiation of task, quality of movement, sensory processing and so on.
